High School 9th-12th

There are two ways to show attendance at FLEX:

1. Active participation in live Zoom class sessions

2. If you can't make it to a live session, complete the check-in form on the class homepage AND submit an assignment, quiz, test or project that week 

Students:

Messages to your teacher should go through the Canvas Inbox(this helps them connect your name with your class, making the communications more efficient)

Changing your settings and notifications in Canvas

Make sure you are:

1. Turning in an assignment

2. Checking to see if your assignment was turned in

3. Seeing teacher feedback and grades

​​Learning Coaches, students and teachers will work as a team to make sure that learning is progressing.
 
Where do I see how my student is doing?
Canvas calendar will show you what is due (with assignment details)
Canvas gradebook has grades and feedback from teachers
Emails and phone calls with teachers
ParentVUE will have progress report grades
 
It may be helpful for students to have a planner or calendar to track daily tasks for longer assignments or to plan out their learning day.
 

Click into each of your Canvas courses on the dashboard.
Welcome videos can be found either on the course homepage or under “Videos” in the modules section.
Weekly plans (for pacing yourself) and all the curriculum are found in Modules.
Use the weekly plans to create a weekly/daily schedule.
Go to the Zoom classes and check in with your teacher if you have any questions.

Canvas is our learning management system where students can see their assignments, manage due dates on a calendar, turn in assignments, message with teachers and see graded work and feedback.
The parent/guardian account is an 'observer' account which gives access to the student's courses, student calendar and access to grades & feedback from teachers. Parents have their own inbox where they can message with any teacher associated with a course their student is enrolled in.
Please follow the directions on the district Canvas page to set up your account if you have not.

We use the ParentSquare platform for district, school and teacher communications, primarily with email, text and app notifications. ParentSquare automatically generates an account for each parent/guardian, using their preferred email address and phone number, but you do need to register in order to get app notifications and to change your notification settings.

You can access both through your StudentVUE account.

The Grade Book tab allows you to keep track of your grades, assignments and test scores that have been posted in your teachers’ Grade Book.

The Report Card tab displays final grades when grading is complete.

To find your transcript, enter the Course History tab in StudentVUE and click on the blue Unofficial Transcript button at the top of the screen. Wait 30 seconds for your transcript to generate before clicking again to download a PDF copy.
