Clubs and Groups
It is our goal at FLEX Online School to offer clubs and groups for students.
We appreciate your club requests. At this time all of our clubs are happening online using video meetings. Please contact your homeroom or Advisory teacher for information about how to join.
2021-2022 Clubs TBA!
See below for last year's clubs.
Homemade Arts Club
Bring your knitting, crocheting, sewing, baking, and other homemade arts projects to work together and share our ideas. This club is open to all secondary students.
Let’s get baking! All elementary-aged students (and an adult assistant) are invited to join us in the kitchen each month. Prior to each meeting, we will send a copy of a recipe to club members so that you can purchase any ingredients that you need. We will spend our time on Zoom preparing our recipes and sharing a love of baking. Students are also invited to watch on Zoom and cook at a later time if preferred. Bon Appetit!
Do you like to play, sing, create, listen to, and talk about music? Come join us at Music Club! We will meet on Mondays from 3:00-3:30pm twice a month. This club is open to all 3rd-5th graders.
Visual Arts Club
The Visual Arts Club will be a fun place for high school artists to come together, share what they are presently working on, share new art tools and techniques, and even do projects in the community. You will learn about art contests and scholarship opportunities. It will be a no-judgement zone. Just good times and a place to grow as a visual artist with an adviser that loves to share their passion for art with others. This club is open to all high schoolers.
Directed Drawing Club
First and Second grade students who would like to follow along to make a directed drawing are welcome to join this club! Mrs. Graziano will lead students over a video meeting to draw a picture step by step. Students will need a plain piece of paper, a thin black felt tip pen and colored pencils to complete the step by step drawing each month.
One of our FOS high school students has decided to start an after school club called the “Movie Club.” Students will meet each Tuesday to choose a movie to watch for that week and discuss the previous week's movie. All movie selections will be rated PG13 (and lower). This club is open to all high schoolers.
Mindfulness & Meditation
We will begin each meeting with a mindfulness / meditation practice, then share ways we can bring mindfulness into our daily lives, manage stress and burnout, and build resilience. This club is open to all 3rd-12th grade students.
Upper Elementary Art Club
Can’t get enough art class? Want a little bit more time to learn how to use different art materials? Prior to each meeting I will send a list of materials needed and what to expect for our club meeting activity. Some meetings will be more structured than others. This club is open to all third through fifth graders.
Youth Preparedness Council
A youth preparedness program focusing on skills for emergencies and disaster relief, general preparedness and community outreach. We will utilize educational material from FEMA, Red Cross, Two Weeks Ready and Oregon Emergency Management. If there is enough high school interest we could explore a Teen Cert program. https://www.ready.gov/teen-cert. This club is open to all secondary students.
Creative Writing Club
Share your writing, and listen to what others are creating, in a supportive, non-judgmental club. This club is open to any 6th-12th grader.
Modern Day Gaming Club
In this club we will hang out, have a great time, and play computer games as well as other modern games. We will mostly be playing Among Us, which you can download for free on your phone, or buy it for $4.99 on steam for PC! We will also include other games as the club progresses. This club will be open to 6-12 graders.
Anime Club is a gathering of people who enjoy Japanese animation, manga, and culture, as well as video games and other animation styles. Join us at our weekly meetings for anime viewings, gaming, and friendly conversation. This club is open to 6th-12th graders.
Dungeons & Dragons Club
D&D is a really fun fantasy board game usually taking a couple of days or a really long night to finish. In this club, we'll be playing the game and talking about it on Zoom. This club is open to all 6-12th graders.
4/5 Creative Writing Club
You can free write and share stories. You can meet other writers and collaborate on projects. You can learn different ways to publish and edit your stories. You can even make your own book. This club is open to any 4th or 5th grader.
Three, two, one, blast-off! Come blast-off to outer space with other Space Club Astronauts as we meet for six sessions of “space-tacular” fun! We will learn how to make rockets at home and learn what life is like on the International Space Station. We will explore many exciting space topics as well as think about a journey to Mars! You will need some supplies and a materials list will be posted before each club meeting. This club is open to Kindergarten-2nd graders.
FLEX Environmental Club
The goals of the FLEX Environmental Club are to increase awareness of environmental issues among the FLEX Online School community and to become better caretakers of the environment. Most meetings center around learning about environmental projects members can do in their homes or neighborhoods and taking virtual field trips. This club is open to 6th-12th graders.
Bring your Pokemon decks and battle online with friends to compete for ultimate glory. This club is open to 4th-8th graders. Bring your Pokemon deck.
Weekly gathering; 15 minutes discussion, 45 min presenting monologues or dialogs? Published stuff? Interested in writing those? Set up a show? Directing others? You guys decide! I am here to watch/listen/help with direction, if you desire. This club is open to all high schoolers.
