Setup — First Time
1
Unbox the camera and plug the USB cable into your computer. No driver install needed — your computer should recognize it automatically within a few seconds.
2
Position the camera arm so the camera head points straight down at your desk. Place it to the side of your keyboard so it has a clear view of a piece of paper.
3
Open Zoom (or Google Meet) and join your class. See "Switching Your Camera" on the right before you share your screen.
4
Place a blank piece of paper under the camera and test that it appears clearly before class starts. Adjust the arm height for the best view.
5
You're ready! When your teacher asks you to share your work, switch to the IPEVO camera and unmute so you can talk through what you're showing.
Switching Your Camera in Zoom
1
In Zoom, look at the bottom toolbar. Find the camera icon 🎥.
2
Click the small arrow ▲ right next to the camera icon (not the icon itself).
3
A menu will appear. Select "IPEVO..." from the list of cameras.
4
Your video will now show your desk view instead of your face. Switch back the same way when you're done.
Access the Visualizer Page

To use all of the camera's features, open the Visualizer page:

Class Norms for Camera Use
✏️
Show your thinking, not a finished product. Messy notes and half-done work are exactly what we want to see.
🔒
Your space stays private. Only your paper goes on screen. What's around it doesn't matter.
🎙️
Unmute when you share. Talking through what you're showing helps everyone learn — including you.
👀
When someone else shares, look and listen. React with a thumbs up if something clicks for you.
🙅
"Not yet" is always okay. If you're not ready to share, you don't have to. But try to build up to it.
Quick Troubleshooting
Camera not showing up in the list
Unplug USB, wait 5 sec, plug back in. Try a different USB port.
Image is blurry or too dark
Adjust arm height. Make sure your desk has good lighting (a lamp helps).
Image is upside down or sideways
Physically rotate the camera head on the arm, or flip in IPEVO software.
Video shows my face, not my paper
You're still on your regular webcam. Follow the "Switching" steps above.
I can't figure it out during class
Let your teacher know in the chat. We'll help you troubleshoot together.
Good to know: The document camera only shows what you point it at — your face and your room stay private. You're in control of what goes on screen. The camera points down at your work, not at you. If you want to switch back to your regular webcam, just follow the same steps and pick your normal camera from the list.
